The Cabaret of Dr Caligari

On May 1st & 2nd 2010 Artizani's (a High Peak based international theatre company) new show: 'The Cabaret of Dr Caligari' is coming to Bamford and Hayfield. An afternoon of family cabaret with theatre, comedy, music, dancing and spectacle set in the stunning inflatable cabaret.

To build up to the show Artizani are offering a number of workshops to create a local element to the performance and encourage participation.

Workshops available:

• Mask making and performance: work with a professional mask maker and performer to create your own mask and character - wear it to the show and entrance is free - prizes for the best!
• Miniature Art Gallery: with our help, create your own miniature masterpiece to hang in the Loo(vre) - paintings from the size of a postage stamp to a postcard and sculptures that'll fit on a match box. We bring the Art Gallery - a shed - and mount the exhibition which is viewed on the day of the show. Free entry and prizes for the most original
• Sideshows: Work with our professional performers, designers and musicians to create a self contained sideshow based in one of our sheds. The audience will visit it before the show and during the interval to be amazed and entertained! Free entry and a best sideshow prize!
• Festival decorations: Design and make themed decorations to festoon the cabaret. From surreal bunting to expressionist table decorations - free entry, prizes and to book a table you have to decorate it!
